NOBCChE Conference

NOBCChE Invites You to Attend Its 2008 Annual Conference

The National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE), invites you to attend its Thirty-fifth Annual Conference. This year’s conference will be held in Philadelphia, PA, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on March 16th - 22nd, 2008.

NOBCChE is a professional society of approximately 4000 scientists, engineers, and others dedicated to promoting the disciplines of chemistry and chemical engineering within the minority community. NOBCChE was founded by seven individuals who recognized the need for an association whose primary purpose was to serve the needs of black scientists and engineers. They created the organization thirty-six years ago. Today, we are divided into five regions with twenty-eight professional chapters and thirty-seven university and college chapters.

Our national conference is more important today than it has ever been to our nation, because it serves as a focal point to create a connection with minority scientists, academia, government, and industry. We exist primarily to support the process of preparing our young people to excel academically and to pursue careers in science and technology. Our next most important activity is to support our African-American scientists and engineers in their career development and advancement.

This year’s theme, “NOBCChE: 35 years of catalyzing scientific opportunities” will serve as a catalyst to foster a connection between minority scientists in academia, government, and industry. We invite you to join us in Philadelphia, during the week of March 16th and commit yourself to the task of improving the skills that you possess.
